Structural Design Engineer
Description
Fisher Associates, P.E., L.S., L.A., D.P.C., headquartered in Rochester NY, with eight offices throughout NY, PA & TX, is searching for a Structural Design Engineer to join our Transportation team with the desire to grow within our Structural Department.
This position will provide a wide range of opportunities with work assignments related to bridge inspection, bridge load rating and analysis and all aspects of concrete/steel bridge and foundation design.
The primary function of this role is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Work assignments related to bridge inspection, bridge load rating and analysis and all aspects of concrete/steel bridge and foundation design.
Develop plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates
Coordinate with reviewers and other disciplines to ensure accuracy and quality of work
Directly assist Project Managers and Design Leaders
Assist with field inspections and reports for bridge and culvert inspections
Work collaboratively with other team members, consultants, and our clients
Requirements
B.S. degree in Civil Engineering (MS preferred)
Engineer with 0 to 4 years of transportation structures related experience
Desire to learn multiple aspects of Structural Engineering and Bridge Inspection
Computer skills (MS Office, MicroStation, AutoCAD, STAAD, Bridge Design Software)
Integrity, people skills, and a team spirit
Intern Engineer certification (IE, formerly EIT) or ability to obtain it.
Self-motivated, enthusiastic and looking for a challenge
Strong desire to learn
Handles multiple tasks very well.
Clear communication skills; written, oral and graphic.
Resourceful and detail-oriented
Ability to work independently or on a project team
