Structural Engineer – Western NY

JMD is looking to fill a full-time Structural Engineer position in Western NY. The preferred candidate would be located in either the Greater Buffalo or Rochester, NY areas.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Ø Perform in-depth structural inspections.
Ø Perform structural analysis and design for steel, concrete, and timber structures.
Ø Prepare contract drawings using Microstation and / or AutoCAD
Ø Assist with report writing
Ø Prepare contract specifications.
Ø Prepare cost estimates and quantity takeoffs.
Ø Review shop drawings.
Ø Respond to questions / changes during construction.
Ø Assist with proposal preparation and marketing tasks, as needed.
Ø Perform QA/QC reviews on work of others.
Required Qualifications:
Ø BS in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structural coursework (MS Preferred).
Ø NY Licensed Professional Engineer.
Ø 5+ years of structural engineering experience for both new and rehabilitation projects.
Ø Familiarity with various design codes and manuals including:
· ACI 318 & 350
· AISC Steel Construction Manual
· AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
· ASCE 7
· NY Building Code
Ø FEM experience working with SAP 2000.
Ø Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ø Ability to work well in a team environment
Ø Ability to be flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of our growing company
