Bridge Awards

Each year, ABCD WNY selects up to three bridges as "Bridge of the Year" in categories based on construction cost.

​

Submissions are judged on the project merits - design, requirements, use of innovative technology, schedule and coordination, site conditions, constructability, and complexity - as well as the Entry Documentation - narrative description, photos, sketches, project features, and overall entry presentation.

Student Outreach

ABCD WNY continually works to help in building bridges - some of these bridges are not always visible, as in the case with our schools and universities.  We take great pride in the promotion of math, science, technology, and the development of our future engineers.  Here are just a few ways in which we strive to connect with and support our local students.

  • Annual UB Bulls football tailgate

  • Annual RIT Hockey Night in Rochester

  • Support to both UB and RIT ASCE Steel Bridge Teams

  • Sponsorship of the annual Model Bridge contest for local high school students

  • University research grants

  • Scholarship fundraiser at the annual ABCD WNY Golf Tournament

  • Annual Associates Degree Scholarship Program

  • Annual Bachelors Degree Scholarship Program
